Located in Paluma Range National Park, about half way to Lake Paluma on the Paluma Dam Road is Birthday Creek Falls – a beautiful 20-metre cascading, slab waterfall in Birthday Creek. Many remark on the crystal clear water here and how refreshing it can be. You can also walk through the rainforest to the top of the picturesque cascades on Birthday Creek. A lot of visitors prefer the quietness and remoteness of Birthday Creek compared to the more popular Little Crystal Creek. Birdwatchers, be sure to look for golden and tooth-billed bowerbirds along the track. Indeed, there truly is something for everyone in Paluma.

Getting there

To get here, take Mount Spec Road from Paluma Township for about 5 kilometers. Then, turn right onto Paluma Dam Road (a.k.a. Lake Paluma Road). Follow this road for about 7 kilometers until you reach an obvious car park. Take the short track to the base of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the small pool.
