Hell's Gate

The Palmer River Goldfields in FNQ were a hub of gold fever, drawing a chaotic mix of Europeans but mainly Chinese miners. Clashes erupted among ethnic groups, and local Aboriginal tribes were threatened by the armed newcomers, creating a dangerous route through a granite range called Hell's Gate.
