Toolakea Beach

Toolakea is a small beachside town and suburb in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia and is a 25-minute drive from Townsville's CBD. Toolakea Beach itself stretches approximately 8 kilometres from the mouth of Bluewater Creek to the mouth of Sleeper Log Creek.

Toolakea is a small beachside town and suburb in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Toolakea Beach is a 20-minute drive from Douglas and about 25 or so minutes from Townsville's CBD. Toolakea Beach itself stretches approximately 8 kilometres from the mouth of Bluewater Creek to the mouth of Sleeper Log Creek. Due to its close proximity, Toolakea is considered part of the Bluewater area.

Many take to the beach to walk their dogs and enjoy sunset photography. The sunsets at Toolakea Beach are always gorgeous. There is a short seven kilometre walk which can be done before high tide which can be followed by a lovely picnic on the beach. Walk along the beach to the mouth of Bluewater Creek and enjoy the lovely sand patterns of the estuary.

Others will enjoy a riding dirtbikes and four-wheel driving around the trails. Some also camp on the beach.

Facilities include a park with public toilets, barbecues, picnic tables and a children's playground.
