This is a large campground with plenty of room, however, there's not a lot of shade. This camping area has a seven day maximum stay. A basic amenities block with toilets and cold showers and some tables are provided.

It's another great place for anglers to catch a few sooty grunters and the odd barramundi. During the wet season, the river can rise significantly. There is a flood record level on the other side of the river.
There is no charge for the use of this facility, so if you are staying at this site, please keep it clean and support Charters Towers.
Access is via Fanning Downs Road, 400 metres east of the Burdekin River bridge.
