Mount Inkerman

Mount Inkerman rises to 219 metres above the flat land of the Inkerman township and is well-known for the scenic lookout. The viewing platform offers breathtaking panoramic scenes of the surrounding landscape.

Mount Inkerman, also known as Inkerman Hill, rises to 219 metres above the flat land of Inkerman. It is a ten minute (11 kilometres) drive from Home Hill and 90 minutes (110 kilometres) drive from Townsville and is well-known for its scenic lookout which offers breathtaking panoramic views of lagoons, Cape Upstart, and the Burdekin Region. You can see Cape Cleveland and Mount Elliot (Bowling Green Bay National Park) directly above Mount Kelly. Alma Creek and Mount Alma (104 m) are also located nearby.

Read more about its significance to local indigenous tribes on the information boards, enjoy the bbq facilities/shelters, toilets, as well as the convenient parking at the top and bottom.

The track is dog-friendly and family-friendly and starts near the Inkerman Shop where you can park your vehicle. Alternatively, you can park next to Mount Inkerman Road and ascend the dirt track.
