Much of the lower reaches of the creek are sandy and flat, the upper reaches are full of palm trees and smaller boulders.
Bowling Green Bay National Park Cockatoo Creek Cockatoo Creek is another classic rock hop bush walk with beautiful pools, cascades galore. The length of the creeks is often done as a through walk with Majors Creek. Points of interest include Nooks memorial and Cockatoo Rock.

Paluma Range National Park Bluegum Track, including Triple Falls, Mine Creek Falls, and the old wolfram mines This track is on the south side of Paluma village and is an easy day walk that takes you on a loop down into Star Valley. It takes only one hour from the 'H-Track' to get to what is locally known as Triple Falls. Enjoy the waterfalls and maybe even a refreshing swim before continuing on the circuit.
Paluma Range National Park Bells Track, Wolfram Creek, and It's Wolfram Mines Bell's Track heads up the range to the wolfram mines and is thought to be named after Henry Bell. These tungsten mines are at the base of Paluma near Wolfram Creek. Wolramite was known locally as wolfram.
Paluma Range National Park Hiking Mount Halifax Mount Halifax is the highest (1,063 metres) and most prominent peak north of Townsville on mainland Australia until you reach the Tully area. Summiting Mount Halifax is strenuous, and you will need to be fit to do it. However, it is definitely worthwhile.
